Recently while downloading my Texas Holdem poker game via Google play store I suffered from error 498. To a more precise note when error occur you can read a note saying error 498 has occurred while communicating with the server.

Clearing cache can work for you:
Most commonly everyone who is facing that issue is because of cache problems. So you just have to clear the cache to resolve it. Go to setting of your phone and then find applications. Click on manage applications and select Google to play store and clear data and cache or Google play store.
Now try again to download the same application you are getting errors with. If the cache is the problem then clearing cache will solve the issue for you. This method works for me, but it is not the case with every other person. So I am sharing some other methods also to fix this issue.
Use high-speed internet WiFi:
Many ISP providers create the same issue error 498 and many other Google play store errors. Try to connect to your home wifi. I hope this will fix your issue.
Sign into new play store account:
I hope just like me you got several play store accounts. So now you just have to sign into another play store account. For doing this go to settings then navigate to accounts, find add new account tab and click on Google. Simply you have to put a Gmail account in it and it is done. Now new play store id is signed. Try to download I hope your problem is solved.
Connect mobile to Pc:
You can also fix this error while downloading temporarily by connecting your mobile to your PC with a USB cable. You can simply use your browser and you can install anything on you mobile.
Reinstall:
Reinstalling Google play store can also fix the issue especially if your mobile is rooted. So simply uninstall Google play store and reinstall it. This method will defiantly work for you if all other methods fail for you
