The different media in which users participate on social networking sites are a major part of how the websites will continue to evolve and grow. The use of photos has been on the rise for years, but video is what�s taking social networks by storm.  Video is becoming more popular than ever among social media marketers, with YouTube at its core.
Kerner said, �Video is a great way for marketers to send an incredibly powerful message, and the growth of video advertising�that�s the fastest-growing area in digital advertising today. YouTube is at the center of that.�
YouTube isn�t the only website that users can take advantage of for promoting businesses with video. According to Kerner, the use of video on Facebook will increase, as will apps like Vine by Twitter. Video�s incredibly descriptive properties make it the perfect medium to target audiences and grab customers� attention.
Even with all of its benefits, video will serve as an added luxury of social media marketing, according to Kerner.
�I don�t think video is going to replace pictures. I think it�s going to be additive. I think pictures are very simple�it�s much simpler to snap a picture. But you know, we�re very early in all of this,� he said.
Kerner advises social media marketers to really understand the value of social networking sites and all of the benefits that they can bring to businesses. Spending on sites like Facebook is a key necessity to growing a fan base and reaching a business�s full potential online.
He said, �I implore a marketer to get smart on Facebook. Spend on Facebook because you�re going to spend. If you spend today, you�ll have to spend less tomorrow to grow that fan base and that knowledge about how to optimize your Facebook experience.�
Social media marketers are working during a positive time for companies and marketers alike. With the number of companies that are forming and trying to grow, social media marketing and consulting is a necessary resource that many businesses need to survive.
