One of our readers wanted to know a possible way through which we can add a featured section to our blogger blogs as what we have added at this point time. Having a featured section in our blog is not only visually important, rather its more of a demand to increase page authority of our top performing articles. Many of us don't tend to realize that the page rank that is associated with our main domain (www.yourdomain.com) has little effect on the posts that you would publish.
By interlinking your featured posts with your main domain (Home page), you can help those articles perform even better than before in SERP (Search engine results page). So for that purpose, we can use a featured section on our blog that would highlight all the top performing articles that you blog already has, so that that would get benefited through the page rank that you have earned over the time.
Now, in Blogger its fairly easy. Its not more than adding another widget section to where ever you wish in your Blogger template. I previously shared:
Now once you add a widget holder where ever you wish, may that be footer (as what we have done here at BeH) or even any where above the fold. That could be even a sidebar, but the featured widgets that we shared previously are not designed for sidebars. Though we could connect our featured posts in sidebar via a drop down menu powered by a simple JavaScript. I'll soon share that with you guys.
